Trawly

I built Trawly because I was losing an hour a day to feeds and still missing the things that mattered.

The idea

A newsletter has subscribers. Trawly has a subscriber. Every edition is written for one person, about the corners of the internet that person cares about, and nobody else receives the same one.

It is finite on purpose. There is no feed to scroll and no app to open. Around a dozen stories arrive, you read them in five minutes, and you are done.

What lands each morning

• The Big One. The single most important thing in your world overnight.
• Your own sections. Built from up to ten interests you weight yourself.
• Why it matters. A short note on the stories that touch your actual work.
• The Wildcard. The one story every reader gets, whatever their interests.

Every story links to its source. The writing is Trawly’s, but the names, links and dates are filled in by code, so it cannot invent a source.

It learns, and you can argue with it

Reply to any edition in plain English, say “less crypto, more biotech”, and tomorrow’s changes. It also learns from what you open and save. If you use Claude or ChatGPT, you can connect them and ask your own assistant what Trawly found this week.

Six mornings a week, plus one short weekly note that asks what you are trying to figure out next. Your answer steers the week ahead.

Honest about where it is

Trawly is young. It is built by one person and paid for by its readers: no ads, no investors, nobody’s attention for sale. Reply to any edition and it lands in my inbox, not a ticket queue.
